50 miles south from Troyes and located in the northeast of France,  Essoyes is a city at the limit of Champagne and Bourgogne. Former capital of Champagne and perfect short trip visit from Paris, Troyes is located in the South part of the Champagne region, in the Aube department. You will be able to discover half-timbered houses that survived from the 16th century survived in the old town.

The rich and powerful Counts of Champagne built their palace in Troyes and it was a prosperous place that attracted lots of merchants from all over Europe during the well known Foire de Champagne. The city is also attached to cultural gastronomic traditions and you will be able to taste the famous Andouillette de Troyes.

Famous for its unique cathedral, Notre-Dame de Reims, where kings of France like Henry IV, Charlemagne, Clovis were crowned during monarchical history. Reims became a main city during the Roman Empire thanks to its location near Belgium.

Most famous large Champagne Houses have established their headquarters in Reims for tasting and tours ( Champagne Vranken-Pommery, Veuve-Cliquot, Taittinger, Ruinart, Krug.. Their Champagne ages in the many caves and cellars under the city of Reims, which form a sort of maze carved in chalk, some of these passages date back to Roman times.
